GardenRunner — Privacy Policy (DRAFT)

GardenRunner ("we," "us") is a free product of Good Minded [Inc.], a nonprofit [501(c)(3)]. This explains what we collect, why, and your choices.

What we collect

• Account data — your email and an authentication credential, handled by Google Firebase Authentication. We don't store your password in plaintext.
• Consult data — the garden info you enter (location/ZIP, site conditions, goals, budget) and the plans we generate, stored in Google Firestore so your consults persist.
• Technical data — basic device/usage info [if analytics enabled], to keep the service running and improve it.
• We do not collect payment information — donations are handled entirely by Givebutter (below).

How we use it

To run consults, save your plans, sign you in, and keep the service secure. We do not sell your data and do not show ads. Plant recommendations are never influenced by anyone paying us (no pay-for-placement).

Who we share it with

• Google Firebase — auth, database, hosting (your data is stored on Google Cloud).
• Givebutter — only if you donate; you leave GardenRunner and interact with Givebutter under their policy. We never receive your payment details.

No sharing for advertising or sale.

Donations

Voluntary, processed by Givebutter on behalf of Good Minded, separate from your account. We don't store or process payment info.

Cookies / local storage

Only for essential functions (keeping you signed in) [and analytics, if enabled].

Your rights

• Access / export / delete your consults and account [via Settings / by emailing [privacy@goodminded.org]].
• Depending on where you live (e.g., California/CCPA, EU-UK/GDPR) you may have added rights — contact us to exercise them.

Retention

We keep account and consult data while your account is active and delete it [within X days] after you delete your account, except where law requires retention.

Children

Not directed to children under 13; we don't knowingly collect their data.

Security

We rely on Google Firebase's infrastructure and access rules so only you can see your consults. No system is perfectly secure.
